Created especially for those who have a connection with Woolwich. My hand-drafted illustration is a reminder of that special place.

The Woolwich Royal Arsenal Gatehouse is the central landmark of Beresford Square in Woolwich. It was built in 1828 as the main gateway to the Royal Arsenal where many of the country's stock of armaments and ammunition were manufactured. At it's peak the Arsenal covered 1,285 acres and employed close to 80,000 people. The Gatehouse is an important reminder of the town's heritage and importance.

This architectural elevation was drawn over many hours, using pencil and pen on a drawing board. Illustrated in a technical style, to help showcase the building in a way that the original Chief Royal Engineer, Colonel John Thomas Jones, may have done himself!

This signed print is available on high quality Giclee German Etching paper, which resembles the thick art paper used for the original drawing. Available in two different sizes, framed or unframed. It is ideal for a wedding, birthday, house warming or any other special occasion, this print is a wonderful gift for anyone that holds Greenwich close to their heart.
